About Sapperton
Sapperton is one of British Columbia's most historically significant neighbourhoods — established by the Royal Engineers who founded New Westminster as the province's first capital in 1859. New Westminster courts have operated continuously since 1860, just after the mainland colony of British Columbia was established, making this one of the oldest continuously functioning legal jurisdictions in the country. The New Westminster Law Courts on Carnarvon Street — just minutes from Sea to Sky Law's office — remain the seat of the Supreme Court for the Fraser Valley region, where family law matters for New Westminster, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Port Coquitlam are all heard.
